As many of you may have heard, Donald Trump has decided to skip the next Republican Presidential debate. His reason is because he dislikes the debate moderator, Megyn Kelly, who he believes is biased towards him. In one of the first debates (youtube link below), Megyn, called him out on his offensive comments towards women that he has made on Twitter. It certainly damaged his credibility towards the female voting base, but Megyn was right in doing so. If you are running for President, you cannot have such a nasty attitude towards any groups of people. Trump is certainly afraid about what else she will dig up to discredit his eligibility. He is in the lead still so he may be saving himself from a dip in the polls.
Trump falsely believes that he can control the media but this plan to skip the debate will backfire. In skipping the debate, he actually reveals that in fact that he is a weak candidate. In today’s world there are difficult situations where one may need to speak with leaders that you do not agree with or even like in order to solve a crisis. If Trump is afraid of a “third rate reporter,” as he says it, how will he handle a global crisis or ISIS.
Trump is certainly all talk and just like any schoolyard bully, he acts tough but deep down, he has a multitude of insecurities. It seems that he is afraid of strong individuals, especially strong women. He wants to be the “Alpha’ male and is afraid when that is challenged. In addition to that thought, he consistently boasts how filthy rich that he is (especially in his latest press release on Jan. 27th) while some of his casinos have gone bankrupt. That shows that he has poor leadership skills and money management. Yet he believes that being a billionaire makes him a king and nothing can stop him. He can run and hide and fake his way through his campaign but sooner or later, America will realize that he is not the one who will make America great again.
